Re-authentication of QuickBooks

If your QuickBooks sync is failing due to expired credentials, a deactivated account, etc. you will need to re-authenticate the connection.

Once re-authentication is complete, your QuickBooks connector will resume syncing automatically.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active QuickBooks account with Organization Admin permissions

  • Your QuickBooks login credentials

Step 1: Open the QuickBooks Integration in Drivetrain

When a QuickBooks connector has failed, you can re-authenticate the connection in the following way:

  1. Click on the Overflow Menu (3 dots) beside the connector, and select Edit credentials.

  2. Click on Connect to QuickBooks in the window that appears.

Step 2: Log In to QuickBooks as an Admin

  1. On the QuickBooks login page, enter your email ID and password for an Organization Admin account.

Re-authentication must be completed using the Organization Admin email ID. A standard user or non-admin role will not have sufficient permissions to re-authorize the connector.

Step 3: Verify Your Identity

  1. When prompted by QuickBooks, verify your identity using either your passkey or password.

Step 4: Complete Re-authentication

  1. Once verification is successful, you will be automatically redirected back to Drivetrain.

  2. The QuickBooks connector will refresh, and the sync will start automatically.

Troubleshooting

If re-authentication does not complete successfully, check the following:

  • Confirm that you used the Organization Admin email ID during login.

  • If you have multiple QuickBooks instances, confirm that you logged in with the instance that matches the Drivetrain data source you are updating.
