Integrating with Rillet

This guide walks you through the steps required to connect your Rillet instance with Drivetrain. The process is simple and requires minimal setup on your end.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that:

  • You have an active Rillet account.

  • You have access to your Rillet Account Manager or Customer Success representative.

Step 1: Request API Credentials From Rillet

To enable the Rillet → Drivetrain integration, Rillet must issue:

  • API Key

These credentials can only be generated by Rillet and must be requested through your Rillet Account Manager.

Ensure API access to AT LEAST the following objects:

  • Accounts

  • BankAccounts

  • BookPeriods

  • Customers

  • Fields

  • Invoices

  • JournalEntries

  • Organizations

  • Products

  • Subsidiaries

  • Vendors

How to generate your Rillet API Key

Once Rillet has enabled API access for your organization, you can create and manage the key yourself:

  1. Sign in to Rillet and open Organization Settings → API Access (app.rillet.io/settings/api-access).

  2. Click Create New API Key.

  3. Give the key a recognizable name, e.g. "Drivetrain Integration".

  4. Confirm the key has access to at least the objects listed above.

  5. Copy the API Key and store it securely — you will paste it into Drivetrain in the next section. The key is sent as a Bearer token and does not expire.

Drivetrain Setup

After obtaining your Rillet API Key (above), connect Rillet as a data source in your Drivetrain instance. You must be a Drivetrain administrator to add a data source.

Step 1: Go to the Data page and add a data source

  1. Sign in to your Drivetrain instance as an administrator.

  2. In the left navigation, click Data.

  3. At the top of the data sources panel, click the + (Add data source) button.

Step 2: Select the Rillet connector

  1. In the Connect a datasource window, search for Rillet (or open the Accounting & ERP category).

  2. Click the Rillet connector card.

Step 3: Enter your Access Token

On the Connect your Rillet account screen, set up a new Rillet connection:

  1. Access Token — paste the Rillet API Key you generated above.

  2. Click Submit.

Drivetrain connects to Rillet through Rillet's Snowflake. If prompted, ask your Rillet representative to enable data sharing with the Drivetrain team.

Step 4: Finish setup

  1. Once the token is validated, the connection is created and you are returned to the Data page.

  2. Rillet now appears in your list of connected data sources and begins syncing.

  3. When the sync completes, your Rillet data is available across Drivetrain.

If you have any questions or run into any issues during setup, please contact your customer success manager for assistance.
