# Integrating with Paycom

This guide walks you through the steps required to connect your Paycom instance with Drivetrain. The process is simple and requires minimal setup on your end.

### Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that:

* You have an **active Paycom account**
* You have access to your **Paycom Account Manager** or **Customer Success representative**
* **Admin access** in Drivetrain with **permission to add data sources**

### Step 1: Request API Credentials From Paycom

To enable the Paycom → Drivetrain integration, Paycom must issue:

* Client ID
* Client Secret

These credentials can only be generated by Paycom and must be requested through your Paycom Account Manager.\
Reach out to your Paycom representative and request API credentials for third-party integration.

### Step 2: Integrate in Drivetrain

* Go to the **Data page** in Drivetrain
* Click the **+** **icon** in the top-left corner to **add a new data source**
* Select **Paycom** from the list of available integrations

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://integrations.drivetrain.ai/integration-guide/integrate-with-drivetrain/hris-and-ats/integrating-with-paycom.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
